About
Sara:
Hi, I’m Sara Westhead! I live on the sunny island of Bermuda
with my husband of 7 years, Andrew, and our two boys, Tommy, who is
5, and Jonathan, who is 2. I keep extremely busy keeping up after the
three guys in my life, as well as working as a freelance journalist
for two publications here in Bermuda, teaching scrapbooking and running
my own custom scrapbooking business.
We are members of the Evangelical Church of Bermuda, which is my family
church, and it was through their camping ministry that I accepted Jesus
Christ as my personal saviour when I was 11 years old on July 19, 1987.
We keep very busy at church, where I am the nursery-aged (0-2) Sunday
School teacher, Women’s Scrapbooking Ministry Coordinator, the
special-events advertising coordinator and am a church soloist. My husband
is also a deacon at the church, too. I was also a missionary to China
before I married
I come from a very creative family and have been doing all kinds of
crafts ever since I can remember. I’ve been scrapbooking since
I was 16. My very first album was one of those giant construction paper,
spiral-bound Mead books, which I used to fill every space on every page
with memorabilia from a missions trip with Word of Life Youth Reachout
to Australia, Fiji and Hawaii. I created a second album the following
year when I traveled with the same group to Belarus, Ukraine and Czechoslovakia.
I rediscovered scrapbooking shortly after I graduated from Liberty University,
just as our local Michaels put out their first stock of Pioneer products.
I bought a mini kit and was set!
I discovered digital scrapbooking two years ago, shortly after my second
child was born – I found it so much easier to play on the computer
while nursing a baby, then to paper scrap. Most of my work these days
is done digitally, but I am still totally addicted to paper.
