Deuteronomy 32
Listen, O heavens, and I will speak;
hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass,
like abundant rain on tender plants.
I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.
I know that my children are still young. I don't expect them to have the same degree of faith that my husband and I have. After all, I am really just beginning to truly acknowledge my own faith in the Lord. But I can hope that someday when the time comes and they need to turn to God, they will know in their heart that He will be there because of all that we and our church have taught them. I know that our teachings are at work in them, but with young teenagers, it is not necessarily at the forefront of their hearts. We are planting those seeds of faith and caring for them until they blossom into a faith that they will acknowledge someday. I ask God to give us a better understanding of his words so that we can teach these to our children. I pray that He will be with my family not only through the good times, but also through the difficult times. I pray that my children's knowledge and love for God will grow just as His love is quietly growing in their heart and soul. I pray that God will be with them as they reach this difficult age of discovering who they are and who their friends are. As they reach the age of making important decisions I pray that God will guide them to make the right choices for themselves, their friends, and their family.
