Journaling Reads:
Leaving our church of 18 years was a difficult decision. The members had become a second family and we had close friendships. But as our faith had grown some of our values and biblical beliefs changed, and it was time to find a church who shared what we felt was important in raising our family. We struggled with this for two years before we finally decided to make a permanent change. When we made the move to Blackhawk Church we went from a church of 200 worshippers to approximately 3,000. The change was somewhat daunting, but it felt right for so many reasons. About a year afterwards, our new church moved into a new facility of enormous size. We know we will find out way around this place as well. We know that God has led us here so that we may grow as we follow and serve Him. No matter where our faith may lead us, we can be certain that through all of time, God will never change.

Supplies:
Green Papers: Scrapsassie Designs by Brigitte van Tienhoven (Pink Forest Kit)
Clock Patterned Paper: Creative A.D.D. by Brooke Rochon
Tan background: Grand Opening Kit by Brigitte van Tienhoven
Threaded lace: Heritage Collection – designed by Joanne Hope
Cardstock and vellum – my own designs
Bling circle: Dawn Inskip Designs
Stitching: Pepeetje Designs
Arrow brads: own design

Ideas to Note:
• Title letters given dimension by selecting the layer and applying a drop shadow with bevel and emboss feature, with texture box checked. Certain letters were also rescaled giving them proportions different to the other letters.
• Our first church photo is in black and white – signifying it as our older church. In the photo of the 2nd church I desaturated the colors in the photo in order to subdue it, making it looker newer than the first, but older than our 3rd church building, for which I left the photos unaltered.
• Long photo was created by splicing 3 photos of the church together (because I simply could not get all the sprawl into one photo!)
• Vellum for journaling is my own design. I created it filling a circle outline with ivory fill, adding canvas texture with reduced relief, and then reduced the opacity of the layer, adding a drop shadow
• Stitching in the round was created by taking three stitches from a designers straight line of stitching, rotating the outer two stitches slightly to curve outward, and duplicating that layer over and over – moving along and rotating slightly around the circles edge.
• Added date stamp to the photos to designate our time arriving at each church

Your page looks amazing. I'd be afraid I'd get "lost" in a churchthat size. Good for you and your family for having the courage to make a difficult change that is right for you.
