One of seven 12x12 LOs I made several years ago during a weekly Scripture challenge at another website.
Journaling reads: My verse this week was Psalm 100:5 - "For the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations." When I first received this verse on Wednesday, I'd intended to focus on the "generations" aspect and include photos of my grandmothers, my parents, my family - and add some journaling describing what our faith has meant to us over the years. Instead, in the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning, our youngest son shared some news with us that changed, not only my LO idea, but also my life.
"The Lord has been good to our family for as long as I can remember. We have had our share of disappointments, heartaches and challenges, but God has faithfully carried us through them all. So many situations could have ended in tragedy, but His mercy has brought us through the difficult times and made us stronger, wiser and closer to Him. When our youngest son, Matthew, shared his news with us on Thanksgiving morning, that a new generation in our family is upon us, it was stunning, to say the least -- but his honesty, forthrightness and willingness to accept responsibility for his actions made us proud. After much prayer later that morning, I sought the Lord for any word of wisdom or knowledge He might have regarding the situation. As always, God is faithful and He did have some things He wanted to share with Matthew and Haley. Among them, are these three that particularly stood out for me, personally... * Your family will be blessed - others will come to Christ because of what they see in you. * I, even I, Am the Lord, and beside Me there is no savior. Isa 43:11 * For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon Me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart. Jer 29:11-13" These words were true for the Hebrew nation millenia ago - and they are still true today for Matthew and Haley - and for anyone who calls on Christ and accepts Him as Saviour. And because "His truth endureth to all generations," I know in my heart-of-hearts that all will be well for Matthew, Haley and their new family."

*update* This new little life was not meant to be lived on this earth - at 11 weeks along, Haley miscarried and, over time, she and Matthew ended their relationship. This occured in January 2004.
