I am on a path that is leading me to a discovery of my faith. Honestly, I am not sure exactly how far I will follow the path or where this path will take me. What I do know, is that with the help of my church and our pastor, I am embarking on a journey to be closer to God and to strengthen my faith. The death of my cousin in the war this past May, really left me wondering about our purpose here on this earth. By coincidence or most likely by Divine intervention, our pastor started a Bible study of the Purpose Driven Life which he also spoke of in his sermons over the course of several weeks. During those sessions, we broke into groups for discussions about the week's theme. Those in my group shared many eye opening thoughts, experiences and stories that has proven that God is always with us when we don't realize it and He is with us even at our darkest hours. This study has allowed me to grow, in some way, closer to God. It was the first time I have ever really opened myself up with an open heart to hearing and learning more about God and the hand he has in our lives. I am learning that there are paths and decisions that we have to make and what we choose to do or say can make all the difference in our lives or in the life of someone else. So, I don't know where this journey will take me. I don't know how this will change me or those around me. But knowing that my husband is on this journey with me as well as members of my church family, I have faith that God will help all of us walk down the path to finding a closer, and a more honest relationship with Him
I came across Galatians 6:9 and I thought it appropriate as I know it will be hard to follow the path with all that we have to deal with in our world today. If we can stay focused, an everlasting life be ours.
