To others, its just another house on a cul-de-sac in Anchorage, Alaska. To me, this will always be my home. I was around the age of 3 when I started living here. It was here I would spend the next 13 years, Birthdays, Christmases, & Thanksgivings It was here where my childhood begins & ends. I played in the backyard with my best friend who lived directly behind me (whom is still my best friend today) & learned to ride my bike (with a banana seat) using the light pole as a place to steady the handlebars as I pushed off. It was this home, where I learned the values I would carry on to my children; where I helped with family chores like vacuuming, laundry, dishes, and dusting the antiques around the ledge downstairs every Saturday. This is where I felt safe & protected. Imagine my despair, when at 16, my parents decided to sell my home. I was devastated and rebelled like a typical teenager might do. This was my home. Now, at 30, there has been no home this far, that has had the same feel as this one. I pray the home I am in now can be the home my daughter will always remember as her home.

Great journaling! I never stayed in one place too long growing up...but I'm hoping to stay in this house for a while (6 years already).
