Here I am…moving around my layout again =) but I wanted the title to ~step up~ like walking on stairs~
The picture is of Jim’s last foot brace and his current shoe =)

LAYOUT: Steps of Faith

SUPPLIES:
Cardstock & Patterned Paper: Club Scrap
Font: BernhardFashion BT
Adhesive: Vario: EK Success; Zots:Therm O Web
Embellishments: Stencil Pattern, Brad, Metal Sayings, Ribbon, Tag: Club Scrap, Chalk: Colorbox by Clearsnap; Pen:Jelly Roll by Sakura; Chipboard Letters: Alpha Letters: Brenda Pinnick Designs

JOURNALING:
Jim was born with a congenital club foot, specifically a tibial torque. His perfect little foot was turned inward and downward with little or no strength at all. When the doctor warned us of the possibility of his never being able to walk, I was immediately overcome with guilt. I had carried him breech throughout the entire pregnancy, so he basically sat like a little Buddha in the womb and in addition to that I had taken Bendictin to overcome severe nausea. All I could think of was that I had brought this about and I prayed right then and there to God ~please let my baby be able to walk~ And at that very moment I felt such a peaceful calming force that I knew it would all turn out ok. The treatment for his foot was to immediately put it into a cast in order to get it into the proper alignment. Jim was only two weeks old the first time we saw the orthopedic specialist and got his first cast. Every week for 3 months we went to the doctor to have him remove the old cast and replace it with a new one. It was truly a stressful time and when it all got to be too much, I would pray and that peaceful calming force would envelope me. We have very few pictures of Jim in his cast mainly because of my guilt over it. I remember going to Disneyland when he was just 6 weeks old and the looks people gave us when they saw his little foot in the cast. I am sure they thought he was a poor abused child, when in reality we were doing everything possible to help him. After three months, Jim ~graduated~ to a foot brace that he wore during naps and at night. And when the anticipation to find out if he could walk became unbearable, I would again turn to God in prayer. And God answered our prayers and more. At 8 months Jim was standing up, brace and all. At 9 months he took his very first steps. And soon after that he was off and running and we could hardly catch up with him~! Jim became an amazing runner. He was captain of his high school Cross Country and Track Teams, setting several school records. All this from a little baby who was never supposed to be able to walk in the first place and a faithful God who listened and answered.

Thank you so much for sharing your son's story. With my son's medical problems still so close, it's hard for me to look toward the future to see what he might be doing. Keep "running the race."

wow...the journaling has me all choked up...what a beautiful testimony...you prayed for restoration...and this just shows you that when God restores something He doesn't take it back to its former...He restores in abundance. God is Great! God never said there wouldn't be trials...or valleys...He just promises to walk with us through them...It is evident He was walking with you and even carrying you when needed. Praise the Lord! and thank you for sharing.

Blessings.
