A tradition in my family for as long as I can truly remember is that we always stayed up late and opened our gifts on Christmas Eve. Was it because we kids couldn't wait?? I'm not so sure about that. My Dad, who isn't so big into holidays, for whatever reason he always lit up at Christmas time...I think he was the one who couldn't wait...lol! Anyway, we always got to open our gifts early and always got a visit from Santa. Boy do I miss those days!!! Though we still celebrate as a family on Christmas Eve, we no longer get visits from Santa (my Uncle who played Santa passed away unexpectedly several years ago) and though Christmas is still special with all us getting together, I still really miss the special magic those days brought. Even though we didn't have much, my parents always made Christmas very very special.
