I had to do two seperate layouts for this challenge as there was a span of time between going out on my own and going to college. I was out of high school 7 years before I finally decided to go to college. So here are my layouts:
On My Own: The year...approximately 1987. I had been working since September 1985 at Buehler’s Food Markets. I started as a carry-out but then got promoted to work in the Produce Dept. After spending the last two years paying rent to my parents, I felt it was finally time to spread my wings and move out on my own. Kevin had a lady that he worked with that was looking for a room mate. After telling my parents of the upcoming move, my Dad quickly helped me get my stuff together and had me moved into my new place that very night. After that point I never looked back. Though it was kind of scary and a huge responsibility moving out on my own, I knew that it was something I was so ready for. Looking back I don’t regret doing it and so glad that I had time in my own space before getting married. It gave me time to grow and find out who I was. Though it was small upstairs apartment with no TV or telephone for awhile, it was a place that I could call my space and for that I am so very thankful.
