My mother is not to into journailing...I asked her one day on the phone and she said "you really expect me to remeber clear back then (joking)" then a few weeks later I sent an email asking her to tell me about the day I was born. she wrote back "it hurt" I wrote back "ya I did it four times I know...come on..." several weeks went by and I started to think she had for got when she wrote back this.

Around the 2nd week in April, Dr. Jensen started telling me that I would go any minute so I had my bags packed and ready was ready to go. I was so over being pregnant...I would make your dad take me for rides in the truck on bumpy roads because everyone said that would make you go in labor...it doesn't work.

I started to have labor pains just before we went to bed around 10:00 anyway I thought they were labor pains about 2:00 in the morning I knew they were labor pains so we loaded up and went to the hospital. You were born around 10 ish the next morning. You were so pretty...you looked just like a little china doll with all your black hair. I remember your grandma Maxine was just amazed at how dark you were. I don't think she believed you were a Gertsch baby. And Grandma Sharlene just went nuts over you.

I remember the day we brought you home the field next to our house (Jon & Arlenes) was so green and pretty it was a beautiful Spring day. In fact that day Grandma Sharlene came and got us and we went down to Stringtown and took Grandpa Ray his lunch. He was down there cleaning ditches.

It was memorial day weekend and everyone that went to the cemetery stopped by on their way to see you. We had way to much company for only getting home from the hospital.

Grandma Sharlene made sure she was there every morning to bath you. I had to make her go home. I think she would have just moved right in.

You were the sweet baby girl every mother dreams about. And I am so blessed that you picked me to be your mom. I loved every minute of raising my beautiful Sunny Lynn. I love you. Mom

This is so special to me and I have a photo from that day...I can't wait to get this scrapbooked and now I am going to go write one for each of my kids....(I think I wrote one for Ben but I am going to make sure) I am so lucky to have such a good Mom this is so so special to me.

IIf you don't know what happened at your birth or if you haven't wrote down the story for your child do it today! These are the most important memories to be documented.
