This was such a great challenge for me, because honestly it wasn’t until I began doing this challenge that I realized that though I may not have fulfilled my childhood dreams of becoming something like “I” thought I would be, God did use those dreams in “His” way to fulfill in my life…God’s way is truly perfect!
Journaling reads: Being a girl with quite an imagination, I had several ideas on what I wanted to be when I grew up. At first I wanted to be a nurse because my mom worked in a hospital before I was born (however after I found out that she was never a nurse that dream went away quickly. Then I wanted to be a singer until my shy self realized that at the time I could never sing in front of people (my how that has changed!). Then as a teen I thought of becoming a missionary, but again my shy self unfortunately couldn’t trust God enough to leave what I knew, my stable little box...but that’s another story. However, God has used all these dreams in some way in my life anyway...I now am a nurse to my boys, kissing boo-boos and making things better. I now sing His praises in church quite often...and yes in front of people. And though I may not be in a foreign country, I am a missionary to my Junior Church kids, my own boys and others...it may not be what I thought it would be, but God’s plans are always perfect.
