My childhood memories consist of many favorite things. Things like playing Atari, listening to Madonna and Whitney Houston on my lavender tape player, talking on my purple phone with friends Lesley, Brenda or Renee, smelling the hair of my Strawberry Shortcake doll, shopping for bread and Jelly shoes at the flea market in Ventura with my family, hanging out at Rincon beach with my cousins, my Barbie with the loud crinkly dress, visiting the candy shop on Main Street at many trips to Disneyland, getting ice cream with my stepdad at Thrifty’s and discovering “boys” while watching the now classic Stand By Me. Come to think of it, these are all things I still find pleasure in doing as an adult. Those carefree days are gone, yet I try to give myself blocks of time as an adult to have some relaxation, freedom and fun. “When you finally go back to your old hometown, you find it wasn't the old home you missed but your childhood” –Sam Ewing
