Journaling reads-My spiritual life really began right here at Highland Park Baptist Church. My family
had been irregular church goers until I was about 8 years old. We attended
occasional Sunday mornings and vacation bible school, but weren't really involved.
All that changed when some friends of my parents invited us to come to their
church. I truly believe that my life would have been different if we didn't go that
Sunday morning. My family never looked back. This was the place we were meant
to be. We became very involved and on March 19, 1982 both my dad and I were
saved and baptized during a revival. I hope to someday find a church like this that
will mean as much to my kids as HPBC did to me. I laughed and cried there, made
friends and enemies and most importantly found a God who loves me no matter
where I go or what I do and that is the very best thing I can pass on to my kids.
