To the one that I admire.
I don’t understand your courage. I can admit that now that I am grown woman.
You raised me to care for others and that
life is precious . Yet living to
the fullest each day I have been given
was learned by example. I still
must admit you amaze me. When, on
that December day, just before
Christmas you were told the love of
your life would die in 3 years.
You did not cry. You simply said OK now what?
I have watched as he has
become more difficult and lost his abilities. I know
that he has tried to
push you away but you stay. You deal with each crisis and loss
as just one
more thing, yet you keep him involved in the real world. You are now
on
call 24/7 for his every need. Did you ever think you would have been
better
off if you had left? Not that running is anything you ever taught,
but I have
seen you struggle. I wish that God would heal him, but I don
not feel that he
is done teaching me life lessons through you.
You are truly my friend,
mother and hero.
