Happy Birthday, Mammaw. If you were still alive, today would be your 93rd birthday. I wish I had appreciated you more when you were here but I’ll never forget the heritage you left behind.
The way you’d always tell us,
“Yer big enough yer wants won’t hurt ya.” and every time we’d get home you’d sigh, “Home agin, home agin, jiggity jig.” I remember when you’d be sitting in your old rocker or working in the kitchen, I could hear you humming old hymns under your breath, and sometimes you’d start singing.
