Alone at the Beach
I am alone, yet with my family. Today
is the day that we scatter dad’s ashes.
I miss my Earthly father more than
anyone knows. I am with my husband and son;
Jesus is here in this moment too.

Prostate cancer, what an Evil thing. What an
evil disease. You could not rob my dad of his
spirit. He went in his way. He was able to be
at home. He had only been in bed for one full day. He was able to say good bye to all of us. And I was able to be at his side and hold his hand. I held his hand as he passed to You. None of those wishes had to be taken from him. I was able to do that which I thought I could not do. Lord, you are faithful to us, despite our trials.


Ashes scattered by the Ocean. Not taking up space in this Earthly body. I know I will see you and mom in Heaven. I will never again see those who were not Kind to you in your last months. I will pray for them and know that in my imperfect love for them; my prayer will be more powerful than their actions.

What a beautiful LO, humbling to read, inspiring as I try to be the mother I want to be for my children, the kind of mother they can be proud of...that scripture is a hard scripture to swallow...to allow our emotions to move aside for the truth.
