David and Goliath
1 Samuel 17:1-58

David and Goliath for me as a kid was an exciting story. I believed David was courageous at facing Goliath. He has a lot of faith in God and God's Words

Now as I grow, I understand what the story is really about. This story is about faith in God and the fight for what is right even when the odds are against and everything seems overwhelmimg.

The story for us is to realize that we have to face our own giants. We need the encouragement of feelings that even though the odds may be stacked up against us, there is a far greater power behind us, by which we can prevail.

We will begin to win the victory as as soon as we can say, with David, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty.

When we can approach our inner battles with that kind of faith, the defeat is inevitable. And Jesus shows us how to accomplish that defeat. If we have faith in God and in GOd's word. We can overcome , no matter how great the odds against us may seem

I pray my boys can have that kind of faith, the kind that enables them to overcome the Goliath's they face.

Wow Lucy, this made me cry. I had a difficult day today, actually think that I had my first anxiety attack today and had to leave church early. All day I have been seeking some word or peace or understanding from on high. It didn't come until now. The journaling is so beautiful and was the comfort that I needed today, to let me know that though I am battling inner demons that God is for me and no one can stand against me. Just like David in this layout. Thanks so much for sharing. The lo is great and love that arrow.
