The girl's name Celia is of Latin Origin--a short form of Cecilia, from the Latin meaning "blind". Celia is also an Italian and Spanish name derived from Latin 'caelum‘ meaning "heaven".
I’m not sure if I ever looked up Celia’s name before she was born. I only had one girl name picked out. I had read a book in 5th grade and one of the characters was Celia; it has been my favorite name ever since. Jon wanted to wait until the baby was born to pick a middle name. He came up with “Cares” on the way back from telling the family “It’s a baby girl!” Little did we know then that our precious Bear would live up to her name “Heavenly Cares” so soon. And to Celia, love really is blind; at 3 ˝ everyone is her “best friend” no matter what. At church I call her my little “hug minister” – she is such a joy and has such a kind spirit.
