In February 2006 I helped in the office of a Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Volunteer Village in Mississippi as others in our team helped muck out houses damaged by Hurrica Katrina and installed sheetrock on others.
The journaling in the lower right box reads: "The white board is used each day to record work crew members and the sites to which they are assigned, and a cell phone for emergencies.
One afternoon when it was slow in the office, I prayed through the list, asking God's protection for the workers and his blessing on the homewowners. It was a simple, yet somehow holy experience. We think we are doing such a good work, yet it is God who called each one of us, and his strength that upholds these people.
