You did not want to play baseball. Blake joined the team & you would not. When I got you alone I asked why and you told me you were not good enough and it would embarrass you. I told you that this is why people join the team is to learn & improve how they play. Dan Ivie was the coach & most of the team was from our neighborhood. He insisted to dad that you join the team & at first it felt like we were pretty much forcing you into it.
After one practice & your Dad being committed to helping you get better, you were hooked! This is the first time you have played since you were five years old. Now you are catching fly balls, sliding into home base & slamming the ball to outfield.
Where the desire is strong, seemingly weak talents may be strengthened and developed.
With a burning desire to achieve, and through long and consistent hours of practice you can do better.
This photo is of your first game ball. Your team voted you the most valuable player of the game on May 20,08. It was the fourth inning you were losing by 4 points, with already 2 batters out & all bases were loaded. On the first pitch you nailed a center drive to the outfield! Bringing in all the runners & making it to third base yourself. You helped your team win the game!!! But more important this game ball is to help you remember that you are talented. You are blessed with greatness & strength. So many other parents & players of your team were also impressed because they could see your determination to learn & improve.
