Journaling on my layout reads:
My answered prayer started several years ago and took place about two weeks before my husbands death. He died of lung cancer and suffered for 13 months before he went to be with Jesus. You see I was born and raised in the Catholic faith, attended Catholic schools and even toyed with the idea of becoming a nun, but things happen and I met my husband and fell in love was married and began a family. I strayed from my faith and was an on again off again believer, however many years passed and through a dear friend and a 12 step program, I found Jesus and turned my life over to Him. Once I felt the unconditional love of my Lord and Savior, my praying
started for the salvation of my family. My hearts desire was to have my husband become saved and together we could minister for Jesus. That did not happen, however I continued my prayers and had lots of help praying from my new found friends in Jesus. God does answer prayer but in his timing and not ours. I and my friedns continued prayers for several years and I saw no results, but I remained firm in the scripture;"If one in your household is saved, then your entire household shall be saved." Prayers continued and I saw no evidence of them being answered; then my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and he was ill for 13 months, and the prayers continued. My friends came to the house and visited with my husband, they prayed with him and then they would tell me he isn't ready yet, I would be so disappointed but the prayers continued. My husband continued to get worse and the inevitable was beginning to happen. One day he was hospitalized with pneumonia and they said it would be only a matter of time. One morning one of my dear friends called me and said the Lord had her praying all night for my husband and she had a scripture for him and needed to see him and did I want to go with her, for some reason I said no I don't feel lead to go, so she and another friend went to the hospital to see him. I stayed behind and prayed. Soon they called me and said we had a new man in the kingdom of God; my husband had accepted Jesus in to his heart and was saved. When I got to the hospital the nurses said; there were two women to see my husband and when they left he was a different person. Praise God it was evident that he had been saved. My husband died two weeks later. Although we never got to worship God togeather nor did I geat to minister with him at my side, he was saved before his death and my prayer for his salvation was heard.
