These are my maternal grandparents. The large photo of my grandfather was taken while he was stationed in the Phillippines, approximately 1943/1944. The picture of my grandmother in the locket was taken from a photo of her the day they were married in 1943.
JOURNALING: He's in the Phillippines. She's in Florida. I can only imagine the thoughts that he had as he reclined on that bunk, but I like to imagine that he was dreaming of her. He was gone before I was born, so I never got to ask him. But I think he would have said yes!
