Journalling: I continue to be amazed at the mercy God has extended to me. His love truly is unconditional. It's without requirement (He loved me even before I accepted Jesus as Savior), is not based upon how He feels about me or for me (except that He does love me). It's not on a whim. For sure it's not based on how I look although I do think God finds pleasure in His creations as His own masterpiece. It's definitely not based on my speech, what rolls off of my tongue is sometimes not very honoring to Him. He loves me even when I am not loveable. I'm stubborn and am prone to snottiness towards my husband. I sometimes get angry at other drivers and though I don't use bad gestures I do think angry thoughts towards those drivers. Yet, He loved me enough to sacrifice His son. So I could spend eternity with Him. Jesus loved me so much He was willing to suffer in the worst way not merely physically but He suffered shame and humiliation. My love for Him IS based upon the amazement I find in the fact that He did this for me. When I did not deserve it. My love? Conditional. His love? Unconditional. TFL!
