Letter Home Part 2

This is a letter that my Dad wrote to my maternal grandmother while he was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
The letter reads:
Dear Mom,
Well how is everybody doing on the homefront? How is Dad? Kathy said Jan was doing a lot better I sure am glad. Mom I want to thank you all the things you and Dad have done for me and Kathy. I am very proud to be a member of your family. I know Kathy and I are young and inexperienced in many ways, but your know as young people are headstrong and determined but Mom plese hear us we do need your advice and wisdom as all young people do. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for caring for my beautiful Kathy and our little Susan while I am away from them. Please keep an eye on them and see that no harm comes to them. They are everything that I love and hold dear to my heart.
Mom I am enclosing $10 would you please buy a dozen red roses for Kathy's birthday, there is a also a card aattach it to them. Make it a surprise for her. If it isn't enough money, let me know and I will send more.
Well it is getting about chow time so I will close. Again I thank you for everything you have done for Kathy and I.
