I thought of my dear friends, Pat & Christina, immediately when this challenge was posted.



Journaling:
You learned the happiest news a young couple can learn in early September 2001. You were pregnant! How were you to know a week later the United States would be struck by an act of terrorism so profound? You only knew it would certainly mean deployment for Pat. While America was in shock, you were busy making plans for the inevitable departure. Soon more incredible news as the doctors said you were having quadruplets. You were a walking miracle. Most women facing your circumstances would have caved under the pressure, but not you. You could have easily begged Pat to apply for a special circumstance leave but you both knew so many families would never see their husbands, fathers, brothers again. No, this was not an option. And so, the sacrifice of love began. Love for each other...love for your unborn children...love for your country. And for all of that I thank you!!


1 John 4:10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.


ps- if this layout looks familiar it is because this is the 2nd one I did. My friend wanted me to create another LO and send it to her and I liked this one better so I removed the first LO I had posted.

No, after 20 years in the reserves and missing nearly the first 2 years of his childrens' lives, he retired!
