Unfortunately I am having problems with my scanner (yesterday it was the printer)so I was not able to load two pictures I have of my children with my husband's grandfather holding them when each of them were just a few months old. I will add it to my lay out when I get it figured out,but I am ready to share.

I am thankful for my husband's grandfather. I never knew either of my grandfathers because one passed before I was born, the other when I was much too young to remember him. Because of "Grandpa" I have been blessed to know a grandfather's love and wisdom. I have enjoyed his humor and his stories and even his "set in ways" for more than 20 years. Now he spends his days in a nursing home with "Grandma" visiting him daily. It is obvious, even now in his deteriorating health, unable to speak or to feed himself and strapped in a wheelchair, that they have an amazing amount of love respect and devotion to one another. At Christmas time, my husband, myself and my children were blessed with a rare smile accompanied by a waving of the hand as we departed. That made up for not understanding the few things he tried to say to us while there. He remembered us and that was worth a thousand words. I am thankful that my children have also been blessed to know his love.

16 After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation. 17 And so he died, old and full of years. ~Job 42:16-17

What a blessing! Reminds me of my DH's grandfather who is still alive to this day @ 86 years old and is able to have a relationship with our children. Thank you for sharing!

He is 90 I think and just seems to hang on. He recently came back from pnuemonia and we though that would be his demise, but once again, he bounced back. I am just thankful for every trip we are able to make back home (6 hours and unfortunatley not often enough)to be able to see him again and to hold his hand and sit with him.
