(journaling for "the wait")
The wait for my new heart began on October 9, 2006 when the cardiologist
recommended another heart transplant. I was devastated and my spirit was
in turmoil, but int he midst of it all I could hear God saying “Angela,
everything is going to be fine. I’m in complete control. Don’t worry about it, just wait for me to provide you with the perfect heart at the perfect time.” Two Scripture’s that God told me to claim during this wait were ”Wait for the Lord,be strong and take heart and WAIT for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13 and “I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer O Lord, my God.” Psalm 38:14 Over the next year I had several hospital stays on the transplant floor. EAch time I would look at this bell and dream of ringing it someday. The bell represents that you have received your new heart and are healthy enough to go home. As I would sit in my hospital room I would often hear that bell ring 3 times. I would shed a few tears and pray for my day to come. GOD IS FAITHFUL, especially when we WAIT ON HIM. On October 23, 2007 a new, most perfectly healthy heart was placed in my chest and began to beat. Exactly four weeks later, with tears streaming down my face I rang the bell. The wait of my lifetime was over, I had been given new life with my new heart. I will now be able to fulfill God’s purpose for me; whatever that may be.
